With only six months to go, the preparations have commenced for the 2024 World Bowls Junior Indoor Championship.

Hong Kong, China became the first Asian city to host this prestigious event to showcase the talent of the youth from around the world. The event was first commenced in 2005 and has been played on 15 occasions. The 2024 event is being played in Asia for the first time ever after being held in Australia, Northern Ireland, Scotland and England previously.

Co-sanctioned by World Bowls and the International Indoor Bowls Council (IIBC), the World Junior Championship is opened to players Under 25 years of age from all the members countries around the world.  It will be held from 2^nd to 8^th December, 2024 at two excellent bowling clubs on the Hong Kong island – the Hong Kong Football Club and the Craigengower Cricket Club who are located next door to each other, which will cater for the players who enter.

This annual Indoor Championship will feature two disciplines, singles for both men and women and mixed pairs. For countries whom don’t have a mixed combination to enter, World Bowls and IIBC will organise to pair them with the opposite gender to ensure all single entries are competing in the mixed pairs event.  The playing format will consist of 2 set of 7 ends with a 3-end tie break.

Past winners included current World No. 1 Male player Aron Sherriff together with many current day players who have won either the Women’s, Men’s and/or Mixed Pairs events.
