Three days into the 2023 World Bowls Indoor Championships and we’re now deep into the Singles events at Warrilla Bowls & Recreation Club.

Some of the stand-outs and current section leaders in the Women’s event include Nurul Alyani Jamil (Malaysia), Lesley Mills (Ireland), Katelyn Inch (New Zealand) and Kirsty Hembrow (England), all so far undefeated and sitting on 3 round wins, with Alyanie Jamil and Mills not dropping a set across their three rounds. The final round of the women’s event will be played today before moving into finals.

Over to the Men’s Singles and Australia’s Aron Sherriff remains undefeated in his section with four wins, closely followed by Phillipine’s Chris Dagpin. Malaysia’s Izzat Dzulkeple and New Zealand’s Andrew Kelly have been impressive with four straight wins each, and along with Sherriff have not dropped a set across their four rounds. Scotland’s Michael Stepney remains a strong contender along with his fellow Scot Connor Milne, both sitting on three rounds wins, along with Guernsey’s Ian Merrien.

Play continues today with the last of the round four and five matches.

Spectator numbers have been good and we encourage the bowling community to head over to Warrilla to be part of the action and watch some world class indoor bowls action.
